Wednesday started out warm and humid at the Manila airport. The same day, 28 hours later, it ended cold and dry in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Yes, this very long day is the day we asked you all to be praying for and we witnessed God’s answers to your prayers. We only had two connections with very short layovers. At each connecting flight, we arrived within minutes of boarding. But, yes we made it along with all of our 12 suitcases. Praise the Lord for His protection and for our arrival on time! Thank you for praying.
Last night, we all went to bed . . . with sweatshirts and socks on! Amazingly, we slept through the night, helping us adjust to the time change. This morning, the first thing Luke did was put on his winter hat and scarf. Not with the intentions of going outside but with the hope of getting warm. The weather is so different from what we are accustomed to in the Philippines. The kids are looking forward to snow (which is the forecast for next week). In Jonathan’s perspective, “The whole world is air-conditioned!”
Today, we unpacked our suitcases. After watching the airport personnel dropping our suitcases on the conveyor belts, we expected several broken items. However, there wasn’t one broken item in the suitcases. Praise the Lord!
Now we are “home”, a beautiful place provided by our church in Hudsonville. Lord willing, we will be seeing many of you in the next few weeks and months.
Thank you again for your prayers and now we can praise Him for the things He has done.
