“Thank the Lord It Is Not Good Friday”

This Thursday morning we awoke with the news that our Agutaynen neighbor gave birth to a son.  At 6am, the village midwife was at our gate and excitedly shared with us all the details of the event that took place just a few hours before.  If you don’t mind, we won’t share all those details with you.  However, when she finished her story, she said, “Thank the Lord, it’s not Good Friday yet”.  Once again, in the midst of joy and celebration there is fear.  In those few words, the midwife was telling us that it is bad luck to be born on the day Jesus dies.  Once again, our hearts break for this woman and all the other Agutaynens who still live in the darkness.  Among the Agutaynens, no other day of the year is so feared as Good Friday.  They know about Jesus’ death, but they don’t know Him.  Only the Truth can set them free from the darkness they live in.

Thank you once again, for partnering with us to see the Good News spread throughout this village.
