A New Name but Same Vision

May 2, 2017 by Stephen and Ginger Jordan

We have been anticipating for several months the announcement of the new name for New Tribes Mission.  This past week, it was announced that our new name is Ethnos360.  Even though we are now Ethnos360, our vision still remains the same:  Reaching the world for God’s glory.

This vision is the heart of our new name.  “Ethnos” is the “nations” that Christ referred to when He commanded His followers to “make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19) and “360” represents the entire globe. The goal continues to be to go into all the world to see a thriving church for every people.

This past Sunday, we said “good-bye” to our Agutaynen brothers and sisters in the Lord.  There were many emotions expressed, especially as our daughter Rebekah said good-bye to her Agutaynen friends.

Rebekah was only three years old when we moved into the village.  At that time, everyone in our village still lived in darkness.  Over the years, she and her friends have grown.  And over the years many of her friends have trusted in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.  Praise the Lord!

As we return to the States for our Home Assignment, we hand the Agutaynen church, Faith Bible Church, over to three men who will lead and guide the church in our absence.  This is one more step to seeing a “thriving church” among the Agutaynens for God’s glory.

Please be praying for our family and for the Agutaynen believers as we return to the States.  Please pray that the believers will grow as a body.  Please also be praying for us as we return to the States to share with our churches, and for Rebekah as she moves back to the States and starts her life as a college student.
