Baptizing Them

September 27, 2019 by Stephen and Ginger Jordan

Grandfather

Two weeks ago, the church family took a walk down to the river to witness and celebrate the baptism of five believers, four teenagers and one grandfather.  Of these five, two are sisters, another two are granddaughter and grandfather and the fifth is the fifth sister to be baptized.  Three of these teenagers will be able to grow in the Lord, knowing that their parents share the same faith as they.  The other teenager is almost forbidden to talk to her mom about the Bible and her faith.  However, the good news for her is that her four older sisters are believers and have already been baptized.  Each of these is a shining testimony of God working through the believers to reach more of their family for Jesus.

All Five

Each one has their own story.  Please let us share the grandfather’s story with you.  He said he believed in Jesus years ago when we held a Bible study in his house.  However, his wife remained faithful to the village church and didn’t believe.  As a result, the grandfather did not attend Faith Bible Church.  Sadly, his wife died about eight months ago.  Shortly after that, he began faithfully attending church and expressed his faith in Christ as His Savior.  While we are sad that the mother-in-law did not believe, we are thankful for this new brother in Christ who is learning and growing in the Lord.  And he is in good company – his son-in-law and daughter are strong believers, and his granddaughter was baptized on the same day as he was.

Please pray for these five that they will grow as they share with others their faith.  Please pray also for the other members of Faith Bible Church, that they will encourage these five, be good examples for them, and continue to share their faith with others.  Thank you.
