WOW Youth Camp

December 24, 2022 by Stephen and Ginger Jordan

As a child, did you go to a Christian Camp?  If you did, it probably was the highlight of your summer!  You made new friends, and you probably made decisions concerning your walk with the Lord.

Just a few weeks ago, our Faith Bible Church family in the Philippines received an invitation to send our teens to Youth Camp, December 19-22.  We approached the church leaders and inquired if we should send teens to this camp and if they could also go.  There was an excitement in the air.  With short notice, we decided that Stephen would also attend (providing transportation), and we would hire a van.  We also decided that we would sponsor this trip as we desired all to be able to go, fellowship with other believers, and grow in their faith.

So, last Monday, 20 participants in all (7 adults and 13 teens), left the village at 4am and traveled over 6 hours to the camp.

The theme of the camp was WOW:  the World Or the Word (1 John 2:15-17).

Theme: The World or the Word

The following 72 hours were full of singing, preaching, team competitions, and fellowship with 250 other campers.

In the closing hours of the camp, Stephen was asked to speak.  In that moment, the Lord laid it upon his heart to switch the theme of the camp and challenge the teens to “take the Word to the World.”  His short message was well received.

Now back in the village, we hope these teens will serve the Lord with a new excitement.
