The clock just turned 9:38pm when the phone rang. The voice on the other end of the line asked,
“Were you serious?”
A week before, we had asked to be notified when a resident is taken to the hospital via ambulance, no matter the time of the day or night. So, without hesitation Stephen said, “Yes,” and off to the hospital he went. For the next three hours, Stephen stood by the bedside of a resident in the ER. Thankfully, the resident wasn’t admitted, so Stephen brought her home. Ginger waited up to help the resident out of the car and into her room as the clock turned 1:30am. The resident was so grateful for the help and for the care we gave her. Once again, we are reminded that we are exactly where God led us, helping those in need, and serving the Lord by serving others.
