The Price of Life

October 19, 2007 by

Arnel`s Gravesite

One Saturday, Stephen was summoned to take a young man to the hospital.  When Stephen arrived on the scene, there was still a group of people frantically digging.  Earlier in the day, three men were digging a hole, trying to find scrap metal.  The metal can be sold in town.  The hole caved in and all three men were buried.  Two had already been rescued when Stephen arrived, and the other was still buried.  When the young man, Arnel, was finally unburied, Stephen rushed him to the nearest hospital, about a ten-minute drive at emergency speed.  He was pronounced dead on arrival.  The price Arnel paid was far higher than any money they had hoped to gain.  How sad!  And sadder still is our knowledge that he is probably spending his eternity separated from God.  How our hearts continue to long for the day when our Agutaynen friends have the chance to hear about God’s gift of His Son!
