Flying January 31 2013

We fly to Haiti, this month!

We start by driving from Alabama on the 29th, to take our 30 or more trunks & totes by U-Haul to the Missionary Flights International (MFI) center in Florida. They

will fly us to Port-au-Prince on the 31st. The Baptist Haiti Mission complex, where we will be living and working, is about 20 miles up the mountain from the capitol, but it takes one to two hour to drive to Fermathe. We will still have email and Internet access at the BHM apartment, and will receive snail mail (letters or packages) when the MFI flies to Haiti twice a week (see our new address below.)

Our main ministry in Haiti will be to complete a Bible curriculum for each of the elementary grades (the first grade textbook & workbooks are being used already this year!) We will be building on the Firm Foundation chronological Bible principles in each grade. Having an opportunity to write age-appropriate lessons for the children of Haiti in French (with the Bible stories translated also into Creole) is a real privilege and challenge. We appreciate your partnership in this ministry. We still have many last-minute costs and logistics in sorting & packing for living overseas, so…

PRAY with us:

– as we pack up equipment and household goods for living in Haiti for 2 years.

– for moving expenses to come in before we leave January 29th, to fly to Haiti.

– for 2nd grade Bible lessons that need their final revision for printing by next Fall.

PRAISE GOD with us:

– for a great visit with kids & grandkids in Idaho; and for Mom’s health & adjustment transitioning to my sister’s in MO.

– for friends who stand behind us as we partner with the BHM for this school Bible curriculum in French.

– for the open door to introducing foundational Biblical teaching into the 330 BHM schools in Haiti (68,000 kids.)
