Dental Clinic

At the end of January I took a quick 5-day trip to a place called Ch****pin where the Guarijio Indians lived and missionaries Terry & Renee Reed along with their daughters Erica & Laura.  Myself plus John & Linda Steinbacher took three days to go pull teeth!  I seriously loved the whole time there.  It is a beautiful place and in January just gorgeous.  The above picture is the view we saw as soon as we stepped out of the house.  Breathtaking!

We woke up every morning, took showers, got ready, ate breakfast and then prepared ourselves for receiving visitors.  We saw over 60 people in the three days we were there and pulled almost 100 teeth! My job was receiving the people and finding out which tooth or teeth were hurting, showing/teaching them out to brush their teeth, visiting with them, and after the procedure was done handing out some goodies: toothpaste, toothbrush, calendar, and a track in either Spanish or Guarijio.

Here are some pictures from the three day clinic:

I spent a lot of time with Erica (Terry & Renee's daughter). She would finish her homework the night before so she could spend time with us at the dental clinic. I had a blast just visiting with her and getting to know her better.

Prayer requests ::
– for two to three couples to help with our English practicum in April for 5 weeks
– for the students as they continue working through this semester
– for the newly married couple: Vicente & Erendira
– for Luis & Vanessa (another student couple) that are awaiting the birth of their first child in the next few weeks

I’m so thankful for the opportunity I had to visit the Guarijio village and serve the believers, and get to know some of the other people there.  It also helps to remind me why we are here training our students and what the final goal is: to see believers worshipping God in their own language and seeing Him work in their lives.

Urgent Need ::

We are wanting to do another English Practicum here at the Ranch for 5 weeks beginning April 6th through May 8th, would you or anyone you know be interested in coming down to Chihuahua for a period of 3-5 weeks?  Currently we don’t have any couples signed up for this opportunity.  If you or someone you know might be interested, please have them contact me at crystal_pierce@ntm.org for more information!  It would be an awesome opportunity to escape some of that cold weather up there. 🙂

Until all have heard,

Crystal
