We use electric motors in some form or another every day of our lives. In this part of the training we show them all the different types of motors. Both in AC and DC They are also shown how to repair them if they are repairable.
Three phase power may not sound like something that a missionary would use, but in most of our mission centers we have it. We teach our specialists how 3 phase works, how it is wired and most of all how to work safely around it. In some cases we use large three phase generators to run our mission centers when no city power is available. […]
In our electric motor class we go over all the different types of motors. We cover AC and DC motors. In the pictures the students built a motor using wire and a pickle jar cap. It allowed them to see how the electric fields work in turning a shaft, plus it was fun to build.
In the first part of the Tech Specialist class Basic Electronics is taught. We start with a review of algebra and then applying it in ohms law.
