We made it! Four days after our early morning departure from Spokane, we rolled in to our destination in Tahlequah, OK. Our travel, all things concerned, has been remarkably absent of trouble or stress… thank you all so much for praying! God’s faithfulness to us has been beyond amazing.
Our day began with a later departure from Salina, and shortly thereafter we made our lengthy acquaintance with a phenomenon largely unknown in the Pacific Northwest: the toll road! Fortunately we survived that terrible ordeal, and were able to keep our (late) lunch appointment with Taylor. After a refreshing time of fellowship with Tay and her family, our return to the road lasted just over an hour… and then we had the pleasure of catching up with our Linguistics classmates in our new Tahlequah living quarters.
Once again we want to offer our heartfelt thanks for all your faithful prayers, as well as the many encouraging emails, blog comments, and phone calls we’ve received. They have been a large part of how God has kept us going this week! We are fairly drained from our four days on the road, but very excited to get started on the task of studying the Cherokee language. We look forward to sharing the results of our first week of linguistic work with you, so look here for that blog update next weekend. Until then, please enjoy the photo gallery belowː a few more captured moments from the first leg of our journey which we hope you’ll enjoy.

I am so thankful to God that you are there safely. The Rock of your Salvation brought you through just
as we all prayed. (I have worn my Rock all week Amy). God is so good, All the time! PTL
Sounds like you did very well and I’m sure you are tired. When do you begin your studying. Is it on Monday?
I hope you have a few days to rest up, but you are young and God will rest you quickly if need be.
All is well here. Today is the Cummings reunion in Yakima, but I am not going this time. Its well over
100 degrees there and I don’t do well in that hot….happens when you get old!!! LOL Your folks will
be there and Uncle Todd but the rest are busy with their own families. We will be represented anyway.
My love to you all. I love your blog and the pictures are precious. I love you all so much and it helps
to see the pictures of you. Its so good to know that God is with you and He will do it! Praying, Gram/GiGi
