Just a quick update for this past week! Much of our time has been spent on logistics; specifically, NTM USA and NTM Mexico both have lengthy ‘before you go’ documents for us to go through, and we have been doing so. Most of the instructions they contain have been added to the appropriate parts of our own to-do lists, and as a result we have a much better idea of the specific last-minute steps we’ll be taking when we are receiving 75% of our support budget (and therefore, gain permission to leave for Mexico!)
We still fit a meeting into our schedule this past week, and received some excellent news from NTM Mexico! Most mission fields require new missionaries to come at certain times, so they can undergo orientation and basic language training alongside other new missionaries. Oftentimes, this occurs in months conducive to school calendars for our kids. And while this is going to generally be NTM Mexico’s practice as well, we have received permission from them to come as soon as we are able, whatever time that may be! This is awesome news for us… meaning that as soon as the job of support-raising is complete, there will be no delays in our transition to Mexico aside from simply planning the trip south. Praise the Lord!
Finally, in the past week… our actual incoming support jumped up from 42% to 46%! As the 50% milestone rolls closer and closer, we continue to thank God for providing partners who believe in the Great Commission, and are excited to see His Word reach those who have never before heard of Him. Praise God, it won’t be long now until we finally can being learning how to share that amazing message with them!
Praising God: for providing a way for us to get to Mexico that much more quickly!
Prayer Request: please be praying for missionaries around the world who are diligently working to share the Gospel! Pray also for those who are hearing God’s Word for the first time in their own language – that God will grant them understanding of His message, and that they would accept the salvation He freely offers!
I am praying as you asked and also how God is showing me. He is working and soon our prayers
will be the action that we seek….that of going to Mexico for all of you! God’s timing is the best and
His desire is our own. Keep up the good work and know that you are surrounded by prayer and love
to hold you up before the Lord. You are getting closer and closer!!
Have fun with Josh and Jenn and children. They were so excited to come and your folks too! We
are only a prayer away. Love to all of you. I miss you and I’m looking forward to seeing you at
Thanksgiving at my home if you are still here! I’m planning to hand out the pictures to all my
grandchildren then as well as Mr. Turkey.
