Awesome news – looks like New Tribes’ blog system is finally back to normal! This edition of the PD Weekly covers our activities over these past few weeks, and from now on you can expect (Lord willing!) to again see our updates here on a weekly basis.
As an encore to our pizza-making extravaganza, we decided to substitute calorie-burning for calorie-making! Together with family and friends we cut, split, and stacked five cord of firewood in the Greenslade garage… more than we’d ever previously stored in there at one time. No matter how cold and snowed-in things get up in these parts, we will still be toasty for as long as God keeps us here this winter!
Our woodcutting adventures were followed by – thank you, God! – the final repairs to our minivan, and a few other projects: including arranging returns of faulty equipment we’d purchased for Mexico, working through the kinks of our new high-speed internet connection (nothing works right the first time! or the second, or the third…), training for sharing hope in crisis situations, and preparation for our upcoming partnership trip to Seattle. That fiber connection is a particular answer to prayer, as it removes travel time as a requirement for many projects and presentation opportunities.
We also had the privilege of witnessing the official adoption of two dear friends, Brittney and Cody, into the Ziehnert family. While they have been part of our church family for quite some time now, celebrating their legal inclusion into Mark and Tosha’s family was just plain amazing! Seeing such a sweet picture of our adoption into God’s family was wonderful, and we were thrilled to actually be here at this time to participate.
After all of those events, our family drove out to the greater Seattle area where we’ve spent the last two weeks. God has continued to open up opportunities for us over here to talk about people without access to knowledge of Christ, and He’s encouraged us by building our partnership team at the same time. A significant number of people have recently started following this blog, reading our newsletters, and praying for us regularly. And paralleling that growth, our monthly support rose from 46% to 57% in the past month!
So as you thank God together with us for bringing us closer to our departure for Mexico, please continue to keep us in prayer. Ask God for opportunities to present the need for church planters among Mexico’s unreached, and to prepare those He desires to partner with us in this ministry. Pray that He will keep us patient and resting in Him until He is ready for us to leave! And finally, please pray for the many people who still need to hear of God’s limitless love for them!
