I definitely considered it, you know.
I considered writing a big, misleading introduction to this post… filled with legitimate information, too! I’d have told you all about about the importance of church planting teams, how choosing co-workers is like getting married, and how much we depend on teammates in support ministries. In fact, don’t be surprised if you hear about those subjects at some point in the future.
But not today!
You see, I realized that any such attempt would be immediately overshadowed by both this photo and the announcement we’re making! What’s that? Well, today we are excited to announce that our church planting team is growing by one! However, it will take about nine months for our newest (and smallest, for now!) co-worker to arrive. That’s right: Amy and I are expecting our third child!
The new baby is due on about September 25th, and for now that’s about all we know! (Technically, we don’t even know if there’s only one). Amy is doing well at ten weeks along… her appetite changes are more dramatic than we saw with Elayne or Titus, and she’s convinced that whoever coined the term ‘morning sickness’ was a bit optimistic on that ‘morning’ bit. Please keep both Mom and baby in prayer as God knits this little one together… we can’t wait to introduce him or her to you in seven short months!
Okay, okay – I can’t resist a bit of ‘team growth’ application! Along those lines, we want to pass on a quick update from our friends in Mexico who work among the Nahuatl people. Missionary Katie Moore recently reflected on the huge team God is using to reach the Nahuatl, and strongly feels the impact of her dependence on both the Lord and the church. Read the details here!
