We’ve Got A Ticket To Drive!

June 30, 2014 by Jordan Husband

Our family being sent off by Newport Southern Baptist Church
Being commissioned for work in Mexico
Have you heard? With our monthly support at 84% of our budget (thank You, Lord!) and growing, our family has officially been granted permission to leave for the country of Mexico… and we’re doing so in only nine short days!

That’s right: our departure date of July 9th is only nine days away! Our family is busily working to pack, schedule, load, and otherwise prepare for our early August crossing into Mexico. (Granted, we may be stopping at a few places along the way between here and Chihuahua!) And wow, it’s been busy going! As you think of us over the next week, please continue to pray for rest in the Lord and the logistics of our many preparations.

Yesterday, we had the privilege of spending Sunday morning with Newport Southern Baptist Church. As one of our partner churches, they held a commissioning service for us: complete with appearances from our dear friends Mike and Gwen Klontz (NTM’s area reps), and a wonderful post-service taco lunch! (Yes, the thematic flavoring was intentional!). We’ve grown close to so many wonderful brothers and sisters in Christ at NSBC, and it’s hard to believe it will be at least two years until, Lord willing, we get to join them again. Yet we are so grateful to be ‘released’ by them to serve the Lord in Mexico, and look forward to sharing with them the fruit of this ministry God works through us.

We’ll be spending this final Sunday in Washington at our home church, Peaceful Valley Church, and then it’s off to the long road between here and Mexico! We so look forward to sharing this journey with each of you, and watching God bring glory to Himself at each step along the way. Let’s see what He does next!
