God’s awesome protection

Greetings from Missouri where we’re enjoying a week long conference with missionaries from around the world.

We have received some exciting news from our co-workers about Langan, one of the Higaunon Bible teachers.

Langan came to us years ago asking to be taught. He had heard about the gospel but it wasn’t clear to him.

He said to us, “I want you to teach me so I can be saved and then go to my village and teach them so they can be saved.” It happened just the way he wanted it to and there’s a growing church in that village today.

Ron told us in a recent email some things that Langan has shared that are happening in their village and outreaches that are very encouraging. People are coming to them to be taught and the meeting house is full.

Their village has become like a frontier town with every kind of vise and evil you can imagine. They asked for prayer because they said it often gets overwhelming with so many different things happening around them. They continually face opposition to their ministry.

One story was of a rebel commander who has tried repeatedly to kill Langan even to the point of ambushing him several times, but every time he tried, they could not catch him.

The commander said to himself, "Here I am convinced that these people are bad and don’t have any power, but no matter how hard I try, I can’t kill Langan. Maybe he does have someone looking after him. Maybe I’d better listen to the teaching in case I am missing something here."

So, he listened and we’re rejoicing that he is now a believer in Christ.

Praise the Lord with us for what is happening in Langan’s life and in the village church.
