When we heard that the airplane was not available to fly us to the city, there was only one other option – go over-land! In preparing for furlough, we had a number of things to take with us, things that would have easily been transported on the plane. After getting ourselves emotionally prepared to go over-land, we found two men who were willing to carry our things to our first ride. We left the house at 5:30 walking up the mountain trail in the rain and were soaked by the time we got to the mountain ridge. It is a distance of 8 kilometers to our first ride.
To make a long story short, thirteen hours and 3 bus changes later we arrived at the NTM guest house here on Mindanao. We were very hungry, dirty and tired! It’s a lot cheaper traveling this way but here we are two days later and still feeling the effects of our trip. The plane ride is 30 minutes and more expensive but one arrives with no ill effects!

With this in mind we would like to share an urgent prayer request for the NTM Philippine field.
NTM Aviation has a helicopter ready to deliver to the island of Luzon. This is an urgent need – please pray that God would provide to see this helicopter up and running soon.
We are in the city getting ready for our home assignment. Please pray for us as we finish sorting and packing. We look forward to seeing many of you soon!
Thank you for partnering with us.
