Please read, please pray…

September 4, 2014 by Lance and Laura Ostman

Sept 14 updateIsaiah 26:3,4  You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. 4 Trust in the Lord forever, for in Yah, the Lord, is everlasting strength.
(Perfect peace? Everlasting strength? How can you go wrong with that?)

Praise the Lord with us that we are safely back in Florida! We enjoyed sharing with many of you over the summer a report on our overseas visit this year and the things for which we are trusting God.

How long are we here for? Interesting question! We are here for at least a month. At the end of this month, Laura will be helping facilitate an SYIS workshop in Sanford. Between now and then, we will be praying and asking God where to spend the next few months. There is a home available for us near Robert where we would only pay for utilities. Please pray for wisdom!

While at our son’s place in Oklahoma last month, one day on a whim we looked at tickets to the Philippines from Dallas. It must have been one of those “glitches” – because a round trip ticket which is usually $1300-$1600 was an unbelievable $751.00! Completely unheard of!  So, for $1502.00 we bought two round trip tickets leaving February 12 and returning to the US July 9th. Yeah – “WOW” – that’s what we said! So, we’ll be there for about 6 months, continuing work on Old Testament translation. Lance continues working on Isaiah and is in chapter 29 this week.

The other day many of you received a letter from a very good friend of ours, Cheri Henderson. We are humbled by people like her and others who are advocating for us to purchase our own home so we can have a place to unpack our suitcases and work on translation. Please pray for us in this! We want to live where God wants us. Should it be here in Florida or should it be in Oklahoma, near our son and grandson?

Thank you for partnering with us as we work on translation for the Higaunon church.

Secure in Christ’s love,

Lance & Laura
