Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.
(Isaiah 40:28-31, NKJV)
What an encouragement God’s Word is to us!
SYIS success. Thank you for praying for us during the Sharpening Your Interpersonal Skills workshop earlier this month. We praise the Lord for the opportunity to gain some experience. We look forward to more involvement with future SYIS workshops.
Translation progress: Lance continues to make good progress on Isaiah. He is working on chapter 50 and is looking forward to going over the whole book with tribal translation assistants. It’s really important to get it right and we covet your prayers for us to do just that. Someone suggested we share this funny YouTube video that shows the importance of language fluency.
Oklahoma relocation: How thankful we are for each of you who pray for us and the Higaunon church! In a previous update we mentioned the decision we needed to make about our location – whether in Florida where we have been, or in Oklahoma near our son and grandson. God is directing us to Oklahoma, at least for the next few months. Lord willing, we will be leaving for Oklahoma Monday October 27th. We plan to live there until we return to the Philippines in February, trusting God during the coming months to show us if we should purchase a home there or in Florida.
Potential home purchase: We are thankful for each of you who prays for us and supports this ministry financially. Thank you to those who have responded to the letter that Cheri Henderson sent regarding an effort to help us purchase a home here in the states. We understand some did not receive that letter, feel free to ask us for a copy.
Family and friends: This past weekend, our daughter Nicole ran the Beijing Marathon for the second year in a row. Stella, one of her running friends, was not able to run this year. Please pray for Stella. She has some serious needs in her life but her greatest need is to come to saving knowledge of Christ.
We don’t normally use this venue to mention prayer requests for people outside of our family but we will make an exception here. We know many of you have similar prayer requests and please send us those requests so we can pray! /*One of our dear friends here in Florida, Jeff Berg, has been unemployed for nearly 3 months. He is looking for a job as a marketing/public relations director, and we’re asking that you please pray for him to find employment soon. Thank you.
Thank you for praying with us. God is on His throne and no matter what is happening in the world, we are secure in His love,
Lance & Laura
