Our Florida Trip: It wasn’t that long ago when we were counting down the days to our trip to Florida and now it’s over. Thank you for praying. We took part in two workshops which gave us more tools to use to be a help and encouragement to others. After leaving Florida we went to Greenville, SC for a brief visit with friends/supporters. From there we traveled to Nashville to visit Lance’s brother and his family. When we crossed the state line into Tennessee, we stopped at the welcome center where we met a man who had been hired to drive a Mercedes Benz from South Caroline to California. We spoke briefly and parted ways. As we drove away I thought, “I should have shared more with him about what Jesus has done for us.” A few hours later we pulled into another rest area. We parked right next to a Mercedes Benz. It was the same man! Virgil told us he was going to be 82 and his wife was hoping he would be back home in time for his birthday. We shared the gospel with him and gave him a gospel tract that he promised to read. He was worried about smoking a cigarette. We told him, “God isn’t concerned about your smoking, He’s concerned about your heart.” Please pray with us for Virgil.
Translation: We are counting down the days before we leave for the Philippines. Thank you for praying for Lance as he continues to work on translation. He’s trying to complete as much as possible before we leave later this month. It’s a lot of work, but he’s enjoying it.
Report from Ron and Michelle: This month has seen two Higaunon families go out to serve the Lord in two different areas. Both places are quite a long way from the village. Both are young married couples with young children. Please pray for Manna and his wife and family and Noonie and his wife and family. For a little bit of background on Manna, his father, Monsing, was the first Higaunon to take the gospel to another part of the tribe. He was killed by insurgents in 1985 because of his ministry. It is neat to see the baton being passed on to his youngest son as he in turn takes the gospel to a new work. Manna does not remember his father since he was a baby when Monsing was killed, but he has heard much about him and his faithful witness even in the face of threats which eventually were carried through when they killed him.
Manna and his wife will be starting a brand-new work deep in the forest, a group that has been asking for someone to come teach them for a long time now. Noonie will be ministering in a village where a work was started by the leaders from our village making visits there to teach. We have been praying that God would raise up someone to minister in this village full-time and Noonie and his wife Yiyin are the Lord’s answer to those prayers.
Please pray for these two families as they will face many challenges. Satan hates what they are doing for the sake of the kingdom of God.

Praise and Prayer Requests:
- Praise the Lord for finances recently given for our visas to East Asia. We are waiting for them to be returned to us but with the holiday, it will be held up a few days. By the way, Happy Chinese New Year. Lord willing we will have ten-year visas so we can visit our kids whenever we’re on that side of the world. Flights to go see them from Manila are not that expensive.
- Praise the Lord for safe travels last month.
- Please pray for us as we count down to the days of packing and get ready to leave for four months.
- Please pray for us to accomplish our goals.
(Heb 13:20-21 NKJ) 20 Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, 21 make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
Thank you so much for partnering with us.
