Ephesians 3:20-21 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
Thank you: We are very grateful for your prayers and financial support for the work on the Higaunon Old Testament translation. God is answering your prayers, exceedingly abundantly! We appreciate each one of you so very much.
Past and Future: Just over a year ago we had returned from the Philippines and went to Alaska! This is the first time in 21 years that we have spent a complete year in the USA. Borders are still closed in the Philippines except for those who have a visa or special permission to get in. Our prayer and hope is that things will improve soon and next year we will be able to return. We are so grateful for everyone’s prayers for Ron & Michelle Jennings, our coworkers in the village, as well as the Higaunon people. They have recovered from Covid and are doing well. Ron & Michelle have put off their planned ‘home assignment’ until next year due to the restrictions in Australia over Covid.
Safely Home: How grateful we were to arrive safely at our Oklahoma home last Saturday afternoon at the end of our 5,000 mile road trip. The Lord blessed us with wonderful times of fellowship with family, friends and ministry partners. Though we were not able to see everyone we wish we could have seen on this trip, we felt good about those with which we were able to connect. My sister, (pictured above with me and my brother Jeff) in a nursing home in western New York ‘demanded’ that I visit her every day – which, thank God, I was able to do! We also spent a good bit of time with Lance’s sister and family, as well as others in my family. Then we went on to other places and saw Lance’s two brothers and their wives as well as more ministry partners. Truly God blessed our way protecting us from some close calls on the roads.
Lance continued to work on translation during the trip (even when I was driving, he was working!) He’s currently going through 1 Kings and making good progress.
Our AC: One thing for which we are looking to the Lord is the need to have some work done on our central air-conditioner. Our HVAC guy came after church on Sunday to look at it telling us what needs to be done. So far God has provided one gift towards this need and we know HE is always faithful and will take care of the rest. This is one of the hottest months of the year here. Please pray we can stay cool until he makes the repairs. Until that happens, we’re thankful for a loan of a window unit to keep our office cool.
Our hearts are greatly encouraged for all that the Lord has done and continues to do for us.
Secure in Christ’s love,
Laura and Lance
