Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. 1 Peter 1:3 (NKJV)
Translation work:

In our last update, we had a typographical error. You probably didn’t see it because most people read what is SUPPOSED to be there, not what IS there. That’s one of the challenges we face in translation work; making sure that the translation goes through enough hands to catch as many errors as possible.
Before we left for the Philippines, we asked you to pray for us as we worked on the final comprehension checking of Ecclesiastes and Jeremiah. We finished the final comprehension checking of Ecclesiastes. And we have worked 17 days checking Jeremiah. God willing, we have one more day and we’ll be done with this check. The next step is for me to read through these books in Higaunon looking for anything we may have missed. Please pray for the Holy Spirit’s guidance in this.
Repairs:

Our house repairs are mostly done and it’s looking good with new flooring upstairs.
And (of course) we discovered more termite damage yesterday. This picture shows a small beam I pulled out of the wall in our bathroom and beside it is the termite dust from the beam. As frustrating as this may be, we know GOD knows and cares. And we can testify of His sustaining grace day by day in this fallen world.

The Dam:
Over the past year or more, Ron has been having work done on the dam. Floods were undermining it so we couldn’t ignore the problem. This dam provides the water for our small hydroelectric system.
Jennings and now we have slowly built up a supply of cement on our flights over the year and we hired some people from the village to collect sand and gravel to put in a cement skirting along the end to hopefully prevent that from happening again.

There are more pictures on our Facebook page of things like our house repairs and the work on the dam.
Our health and a break:
Another thing we asked prayer for before we left was our health. Please pray as Laura has been having gut issues. Please pray we can find answers when we go to the city, the Lord willing, next week. I will also have my PSA checked. We’re praying for a more normal number than the test I had before we left the US.
We plan to return to the village after a week. At that time Ron & Michelle plan to fly out as they are heading to Australia for a grandson’s wedding.
Thank you:
As we celebrate the resurrection of Christ this Sunday, we remember that we have HOPE that the world does not have. If we went to every funeral of friends and supporters who have passed away over the past couple of years, we would be kept busy. But praise the Lord for the fact that we don’t grieve like those who have no hope! “His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” 1 Peter 1:3 (NKJV)
Thank you for praying for us and the work here. To say that we appreciate all of you who pray and those who give financially is an understatement.
Please let us know how we can pray for you.
Secure in Christ’s love,
Lance & Laura
