Dear Folks,
Hello again from Florida! We have had some beautiful weather here the last few months! We sure didn’t have any snow but we have had several cold snaps with days of cool weather (at least cool for us Floridians), so we aren’t complaining!
Cody has been doing well for his first year of being in a public school and we are proud of him for his induction in the National Honor Society recently. Haley is also doing well in the mission school but is not sure she wants to be in her mom’s math class next year!
We are looking forward to seeing Heather when we fly out to Jason’s wedding this next month (March 18th). She will fly from the Bible school in Jackson, Michigan and meet us in Arizona. A recent development since yesterday is that now my mom is considering flying out to the wedding with us. Before we didn’t think she would be able to stand the trip but have decided that she shouldn’t miss it so are in the process of trying to figure out how to get her on the same plane, make hotel reservations, arrange a way for her to have dialysis out there, etc. We will see if it all works out!
I, Jackie, am staying pretty busy running my mom and the kids to various places. In between times, I continue to work in the school and Field Ministries Office. As far as my mom’s health, we had been told about Anodyne Therapy which is a relatively new treatment for Neuropathy. We had hoped that it would help with the numbness and pain in Mom’s legs and feet. After a month of treatments, however, she showed no improvement so has discontinued the therapy.
Since we work at the mission headquarters we often hear some of the exciting news coming from tribal works. Here is an update on the Mibu, a tribal group from Papua New Guinea, who are being taught chronologically through the Bible for the first time. "Though missionaries have just begun teaching about the life of Jesus, 23 Mibus now testify to their faith in Christ. Pray that more Mibus will understand God’s truth as Joey Taartaglia and Chris Walker continue teaching in two villages." This is encouraging news for us which makes us realize again that our labor here is not in vain as we work on the support end of trival missions. Please keep the Mibu in your prayers these days. Pray that they will have open hearts and minds to what they are being taught, that they will understand clearly the Gospel message and trust Christ as their Savior. Also, pray for wisdom and endurance for the missionaries as they teach spiritual truths.
We are grateful to have you as partners as we work here at New Tribes Mission headquarters. Thank you for your prayers and support. May God bless you all.
Love in Christ,
Phil and Jackie
