Dear Folks, May 30, 2010
Greetings. It is hot here and already feels like summertime. It makes me think that our snowbird volunteers are on to something. They come down here when the weather up north is cold and the weather here is, at last, pleasant, then they go home when northern temperatures are warming up to escape the heat that is quickly arriving here.
I am slowly catching up with my work- I’ve installed some utility cabinets in a staff apartment, finished six tables for the Executive Committee conference room, made beds for the guest facility and made window trim- we are replacing 106 windows this year. They are old and don’t keep the water out when it rains. Our son, Cody has been hired as a part time worker to help with that. I have enjoyed having him work with us and it lets him earn some experience and some cash for college and other needs. I recently finished a counter in our media room where visitors to our USA headquarters are taken for a video tour of the mission’s work around the world. New projects never seem to be lacking around here.
I also taught sixth grade art at our mission school. Last week was our last class period most of them finished our last project. It has been fun to watch young talent in the making. Some, of course have more natural ability than others, but I believe all the children had fun this year. I’ve been asked to teach two art classes next year, fifth grade and seventh grade which will be the same children that I had this year.
Jackie keeps working in the Field Ministry Office between teaching math and keyboarding at our mission school, picking up Haley and other missionary teens from high school and all the other things she does. They have asked her to teach again next year as well.
We both helped with the AWANA program at church. It has now ended for the summer, but it was joy to help the children with their verses and help them understand spiritual truth.
PAPUA NEW GUINEA: Dinangat tribe: Twenty-eight believers were baptized Sunday. One of them said, “Because Jesus died for my sin, I died to sin as well, and because He rose again I have new life and will live with Him forever! I want everyone to know that I believe that and that I want to obey God’s Word!” What a clear Gospel message! Please pray that these believers will continue to follow God’s Word and grow in their walk with Him.
JACKIE’S CORNER: I recently shared at a Mother/Daughter Banquet at our church. The talk centered around a neat verse – Nahum 1:7
The LORD is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him.
I hope this verse will be an encouragement to you this week as you run into difficult moments. Remember: He is good, He is a Refuge and He cares for you!

UNITED STATES: Another group will graduate tomorrow from missionary training. Please pray for them as they prepare to go to various countries to be a part of planting churches among tribal people.

In the mean time, we praise Him for his goodness. We thank the Lord for you and your contributing to our lives and ministry though your prayers and support. You are part of reaching tribal people with the Gospel. May God bless you. He has provided some extra work for us, as well. Phil just finished a set of cabinets for a lady, working on Saturdays and in the evenings. Last week Jackie started working part time with the U.S. Census. The job will only last a few weeks but every little bit helps. Thank you for standing with us in this job of world evangelization!
Till the Last Tribe is Reached,
