Thank you so very much for your prayers for the Dinangat translation check which we had in September. It went very well and we are very encouraged! After only a few little changes that need to be made 8 more letters of Paul will be ready to be printed for the Dinangat churches! That is a big deal for us and we thank God who alone is the one who gives us the strength, endurance and wisdom for the work of translating His Word.
In the beginning of October we flew to Dinangat for 12 days while the girls were on school break. Now that our times in Dinangat are so short we try to cram in as much as we can. The verses which Ralf translated while in Goroka he then checks with the translation helpers in Dinangat and records it to have it directly spoken from them. Also all the verses need to be checked for comprehension which Ralf and I do with different Dinangat helpers to see whether the translation is understood correctly or not. We are working on Revelation and 2nd Corinthians right now. Please pray for wisdom so that God’s Word will get translated correctly and clearly.
We also had some great opportunities to get together with the elders and Bible teachers to talk about some good things but also hard things happening in the church. Unfortunately they have to deal with some pretty heavy stuff (like adultery, jealousy and death threat) and must now know how to help those certain people to talk things over, apologize, forgive and deal with the consequences. But we are very encouraged by how the leaders of the church are dealing with it even though it is a big challenge for them. Please pray for them!
In our last Dinangat Mail we told you about our struggles with leaving our oldest daughter Naomi in Germany. The first two months were really hard for us but since the beginning of October we are doing much better and we thank God so much who loves Naomi and cares for her wonderfully. She started going to nursing school and is liking it a lot. She is also working on her driver’s license and making good progress. We still have moments when we struggle with being separated from her but „great is your love, higher than the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens, and let your glory be over all the earth.“ Psalm 108:4-5

So great to hear about the Dinangat translation! Way to go! Yes, we can relate very well to leaving kids behind. God has shown us so many times how He is there for them. Doesn’t mean they didn’t go through rough times, but to see God taking care of them through those times is amazing!
