Are you ready for Christmas yet?

November 17, 2008 by

Students start decorating their schools for Christmas starting the first week of November.

Have you decorated for Christmas yet?  In the Philippines, Christmas decorating begins in September, and it is celebrated throughout the ‘ber’ months (September, October, November, & December).  If you are like us, the temptation is sometimes strong to begin decorating early. But each year, we delay decorating until after Abigail’s birthday (which is right after Thanksgiving).  Having Christmas music playing in the stores in September comes in handy for some things though.  For example, there are some things that we have found it necessary to do early, like make and mail our Christmas cards.  We have already mailed our Christmas cards because this is the last time we plan to be in town again before Christmas.  Take note though: even though Christmas is celebrated during the ‘ber’ months, it is certainly not the ‘brrr’ months.  We maintain our regular temperature in the 80s & 90s.
