The day, June 5, started out beautiful, but by 4pm the clouds had moved in and the rain started to come down in sheets. I, Stephen, told Jonathan that we should pray and ask God to stop the rain because the Bible study was going to start at 7pm. Jonathan prayed and then I did too. Within an hour, in God’s timing, the rain ceased, leaving behind muddy roads and paths. We knew this would discourage many Agutaynens and they wouldn’t come to the teaching. However, 25 Agutaynens trekked their way to the meeting place at 7 pm. Together, Stephen and Manfred, proclaimed the death of Jesus Christ, and that His death is sufficient to pay for all our sins. Like most meetings, most the Agutaynens nod in agreement when we read the Bible and share a truth that is against their traditions. However, many of these Agutaynens will then go home and continue in their old ways. They appear to agree with the Word of God during the meeting, but then practice something else at home. Their “yes” becomes a “no” very quickly. It is hard for us to know their hearts. Please pray for us for boldness and for discernment. Please pray that their “yes” would be “yes” indeed in word and in action. Tomorrow, June 12, Manfred will have a good review of last week’s lesson in hopes that many will come that were absent last week. Then Stephen will teach concerning the burial and resurrection of Jesus. Please pray that these Agutaynens will come, accept the Truth for themselves, and lives that proclaim YES.
