One of the Sweetest Prayers I’ve Ever Heard . . .

August 12, 2016 by Stephen and Ginger Jordan

. . .  and I didn’t even hear much of it.

Tay Hesus, a year ago
Tay Hesus, a year ago

For the last several weeks, one of my daily routines is to go visit Tay Hesus.  As you know, he has stage 4 cancer and his body is losing the battle.  Over the last few weeks, he has grown weaker and weaker.  Because of Ginger’s accident, we were out of the village for over a week.  So upon our return to the village, I went down the dusty road to see Hesus.  Upon my arrival to his bedside, Hesus immediately wanted to know how Ginger was.  This man who is dying, wanted to know how my wife was.  Wow!  As he spoke, I had to lean close to his face to hear his “words”.   His words came out as a mumbled whisper.  Often I looked over to Hesus’ wife to see if she understood what he was trying to say.  In my short visit of about 20 minutes, Hesus kept falling asleep.  Towards the end of my visit, he awoke again and I took the opportunity to pray for him and for his family.  Because of his sleepiness, I kept my prayer short.  However, immediately upon ending my prayer, Hesus said, “I want to pray for Ginger.”  Over the next few minutes, Hesus prayed for Ginger, but due to his weakness and his lost ability to speak clearly, I can’t tell you much of what he prayed.  However, this is one of the sweetest prayers I’ve ever heard.

Please continue to pray for Hesus, his family, and the body of believers during this difficult hour.
