Who is Teaching Today?

September 3, 2018 by Stephen and Ginger Jordan

When you visit a new church, you might look around and ask yourself, “Who is the Preacher here?” You might look for the man wearing a tie or someone sitting up on the platform with a Bible in his lap.
This past Sunday, after arriving to the church in the village, one of our kids leaned over to Ginger and asked, “Who do you think will be teaching today?” Ginger replied and suggested one or two of the men who usually teaches. Our child then replied, “I think it will be Joseph or Gerry.” Ginger inquired, “Why do you think it is one of them?” “Because they are both wearing shoes today!” replied our child.

And sure enough, Joseph was the one to share the message that day.

Our church over here doesn’t look like your church in many ways. For examples, instead of soft padded chairs, we have hard bamboo benches; instead of carpeted floors, we have a dirt floor.
Here is one more example of how our church doesn’t look like yours: after the Sunday service, Stephen asked the church if he could take a group picture for a presentation he is preparing. All the members gathered around the front for a picture, along with two dogs!

However, the one thing that we do have in common with your church is God’s Word. That is our foundation!
