Last week, nine members of Jenison Bible Church arrived in the Philippines to assist us in our 5th annual Sports Bible Camp.
After several days of traveling, they finally arrived in our village on Sunday morning for a time of worship and fellowship with the village church. The members of the church celebrated the arrival of the visitors with a Filipino lunch.
This morning, Monday, we kicked off Sports Bible Camp with about 70 players. All went well and we endured the heat of the morning.
At the end of the morning, we handed out the sheets for the players to memorize John 6:47 and to get 74 signatures each. Two hours later, we were going through the village and saw over a dozen of teenagers going from house to house with their papers. Tomorrow, we will know the final result, but it looks like most of the players accepted the challenge and filled their papers with signatures. Praise the Lord!
This afternoon, we took the opportunity to expose the JBC team to some culture in our village. The men helped a widow by working on her fence. The women made sticky rice and cooked it wrapped in coconut leaves.
Please continue to pray for the players, the JBC members, and all those involved in Sports Bible Camp. Thank you.
