“There is nothing left in the village” is what one person has said in response to the typhoon that just directly hit the village where we serve in the Philippines. Friday afternoon in the Philippines, typhoon Rei hit the village with winds over 100 mph. Many of the believers, and possibly several people who live nearby, took refuge at the church building. We can’t imagine their emotions as they saw trees falling around them and probably wondering about their own homes. When they finally did go home, there appears to be not much left. Many, if not all the homes in the village were damaged, if not destroyed. As of this time, our news is primarily from pictures we have seen of the damage around the village.
Please pray for our brothers and sisters-in-Christ who have been hit by this typhoon. May they trust in the Lord during this difficult time and seek ways to show His love to their neighbors who are also suffering.
Please pray for the unbelievers who sought refuge in the church building. May they seek refuge in Jesus Christ.
Praise the Lord, as far as we know, the believers are safe and alive. Also, it appears that the church building only had minor damage. This is amazing as all the trees on the property of the church and the neighbors’ properties apparently fell away from the building!
Thank you for praying for our friends in the Philippines.
