Remembering Teresa

Remembering Teresa

August 6, 2022

Teresa Holmgren prayerfully and skillfully wrote the previous blog entries. Due to her 4-year battle with cancer and the rapid turning of the calendar pages as Tim grappled with how to live with her loss, it has been a number of years since a post has been written on this blog. Tim and I could […]

Video Games and the Unforseen

Video Games and the Unforseen

June 30, 2017

This afternoon I found myself playing a video game with Nicole and Jacob.  I could probably count on 1 hand the amount of times I’ve ever played video games.  Part of the reason is that it just doesn’t interest me, but probably the main reason is that I just lack any and all skill at […]

When Your Child Says “This Was the Best Day”

When Your Child Says “This Was the Best Day”

March 20, 2015

Tonight was the night that was all about our youngest.  It was Jake’s turn to be singled out.  With both his brother and sister on overnight church activities, Jake was the only child at home.  With having 6 children (only 3 at home now), and Jake being the youngest, that is not something that […]

Unexpected Encouragement

Unexpected Encouragement

March 11, 2015

It has been almost 35 years since Tim walked me home from our first date.  I remember clearly how fast he walked and I remember thinking “Wow, he must really want to get rid of me!”  I have since then learned to keep pace with him and our daily “fast walk” in the mornings has […]

Rites of Passage

Rites of Passage

May 18, 2011

Wikipedia defines "rites of passage" as a ritual event that marks a person's progress from one status to another. Adam earned one of those "rites of passage" this week as he completed his years in Awana's TNT (Truth and Training). I know it might seem trivial to many of you, but to me it was a very big deal.

Catching up with Technology

March 9, 2011

Although we have had this blog for awhile it has mostly sat unused, mostly due to the fear that I didn't know what to do. So I figured that it is time to "catch up" with technology", overcome my fear of blogging, and keep you updated on us and the ministry the Lord has given us.

…Avoiding Catastrophe

…Avoiding Catastrophe

August 19, 2008

The Webster's Dictionary defines catastrophe as "a great disaster or misfortune." This year has been a year of catastrophes around the world. I (Tim) am thinking about the earthquake in China that reached 7.9 on the Richter scale. This earthquake is said to have killed over 69,000 people. We all remember the Myanmar (Burma) Typhoon earlier this year, which is expected to have, in the end, a death toll of over 100,000 lives. What more will this year hold with it only being halfway through the year? Only God knows.
