Verse of the Week
Take no rest, all who pray to the Lord. Give the Lord no rest until He completes His work. (Isaiah 62:6-7)
Dear faithful prayer partners,
Thank you for continuing to pray for us this past week. I was reminded from the verses above that it’s through prayer that we can move the heart of God. Isaiah 64:4 says, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard of a God who works for those who wait for him.” What is the work that God does for those who wait for him? He is always working to conform us to His image. He is always working toward that good (Rom 8:28-29). Anyway, thanks for praying, and please continue to pray, asking him to complete the work he promised. (Phil 1:6)
Prayer Requests
- We still have 2 orientee families with us. They have been delayed for 2 more weeks due to increased COVID restrictions. Pray for them that they will continue to rest in the Lord with all these changes.
- Robin and I have started sorting through the orientation curriculum. With all the changeover the past few years, things have gotten a bit disorganized. Pray for us as we start sorting through things. Pray for wisdom in how to organize things and for how to make the program as effective as possible.
- Praise the Lord with us for the Weaver family. Although they are going through a difficult time, it’s been neat to see them growing in the Lord as we work with them. Continue to pray for wisdom for us as we work with them.
- Pray also for our other coworkers, the Willett family. They have been a huge blessing to us in managing the center. But, they were hoping to be teaming up and moving out to another area this month. But, all of that has fallen through for them. Pray for contentment in where God has them right now. But, pray also the Lord will lead them to the right partners, so they can move toward church planting.
News
Friday was supposed to be the day all our orientees left for their medical orientation. But, due to increased numbers of COVID cases in the province where our clinic is, the province has been “locked down” and everyone’s plans put on hold. At the moment our medical staff is pretty busy treating covid cases among our missionaries as well. So, it’s probably better for our students to delay a little to allow things to settle down a bit anyway.
Since they couldn’t leave our province for 2 more weeks, a couple of the families took some down time and spent a few nights at one of the hotels in town. The picture above was taken while having lunch at one of the hotels.
Seeing their departure has been delayed another 2 weeks, we are not quite “finished” with this group yet. Pray for energy and for a good closing with these families.
Thanks so much for continuing to stand behind us. Thanks to all of you who give regularly to enable us to be here. Thanks all of you, for praying so faithfully.
In the grip of God’s grace!
