Have you ever seen an old man hunched over? It’s as if he is carrying a heavy burden, but there is nothing on his shoulders. Many of our residents at The Homes are like this man. They stand tall on the outside, but they are hunched over inside with many burdens.
“How are you doing carrying everyone’s burdens?” was a question a resident asked us during our recent visit with them in the hospital. Initially, we didn’t know quite how to answer this question because their difficulties don’t feel like burdens to us. Rather, we consider it a privilege that the residents freely share with us.

Just like you, the residents (retired missionaries of New Tribes Mission / Ethnos360) have “burdens.” Burdens due to children who no longer walk with the Lord, burdens due to medical concerns, burdens due to . . . you name it. As their chaplain, it is our privilege to point them to God’s Word, and to carry these burdens with them to the Lord in prayer. We don’t carry their burdens, but together we give them to the Lord!

As our partners, you stand with us in the hospital, you sit with us in their homes, you pray with us for these residents of The Homes of Ethnos360. Thank you for partnering with us for God’s ultimate glory in and through their lives. Thank you.
