Our family has some very exciting news to share with you! As we teach our children about the Lord, we have watched Elayne in particular grow in understanding of her need for God’s mercy. She had come to understand that she was separated from God because of her sin – that the Bible stories we shared did not apply merely to ‘some people’ or even to ‘everyone’, but to her personally. She also knew that God was not satisfied with that separation, and that He planned to do something about it!
Well over the past two weeks, Amy and I saw the light finally come on for Laynie! We’d taught her how God illustrated the principle of sacrifice in the Old Testament, punishing a man’s sin through the death of a lamb instead of that of the man. It’s hard to describe our excitement as we saw her put the pieces together, realizing that Jesus truly WAS the Lamb of God: God Himself come to bear the penalty for all of her sin!
Elayne did not need us to tell her anything more – she told us that Jesus’ death meant her freedom from eternity apart from God, and that because of Him she was now God’s friend rather than His enemy. As parents, we know that this is only a beginning, not an ending… yet God gave us the privilege of seeing Him create new life in our precious daughter, and we could not possibly be more thankful!
Please pray for Elayne as she now has the opportunity to grow more like Jesus. Pray for Amy and I as her parents, who desire to continue faithfully teaching her by word and example what it means to follow the Lord. Pray for Titus, that God will continue to reveal to him that same need for a Lamb. And finally, please just take a moment to stop with us and thank God for the miraculous thing He has done in Elayne’s life!

Thanks Jordan and Amy- this is the greatest news a parent could ever get. I praise God for Elayne’s salvation and pray for continued spiritual growth in her life. She is very blessed to have you as parents and I look forward to seeing and hearing what God is doing and will accomplish through your little Elayne- she is so preecious. Thanks for sharing this good news- love you, Pastor Jim
