This recent trip was our third time back to the Philippines since our transition to the US and working on Old Testament translation from “home.” Two of those trips were paid for with miles! We are grateful to the Lord and to those who gave miles!
We arrived back in Florida last Thursday and are finally getting over jet-lag. We are thankful for friends who are putting us up.
We are also thankful for our church in Florida who has provided us a place to stay in the past. We knew when we left for the Philippines that the house would probably be occupied by someone else before we returned. Since that is the case, we are looking for a place where we can unpack our suitcases. Please pray with us for this.
When we arrived last week, one of the first things we did was head to our church. A staff member came up to me and said, “I prayed for you every day!” Wow – what a blessing! We are grateful for each one who prays for us.
If you know of anyone interested in hearing some of the exciting things that God has done and is doing among the Higaunon, please let us know. We are looking for opportunities to share in churches or small groups.
We are scheduled to travel to western New York for the 4th of July holiday. The Lord willing, five of the six siblings in Laura’s family will be together; that hasn’t happened in many years!
Not having a place to call our own, we aren’t sure when we will return to Florida. Please pray about where we should be as Lance needs to fly to Kansas City, MO the first week of August to help facilitate an SYIS workshop.
In the meantime, Lance is working on the first draft of Isaiah and preparing for the SYIS workshop.
A verse that is an encouragement to us is Isaiah 40:31 But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint. We are waiting on Him and we know He will give us strength.
Secure in Christ’s love,
Lance & Laura
