Do you feel the same sometimes that the burdens and the routine of everyday life robs you of the joy and the strength that we have through the relationship with our Lord? We know that from our own lives and also see it in the lives of the young Dinangat believers. We all know a lot and have heard a lot but is God’s Word really part of our lives, does it change the individual aspects of our daily lives?
We think a new refreshing Bible study of the foundations of our faith is a good thing for all of us who have been walking with God for a while. And that is just what we have started doing here in the Dinangat churches a couple of weeks ago. The topic is „Walking in the Spirit.“ The Bible Teachers are excited and they get to also learn to write the Sunday lessons on their own with the only helps being the topic, the Scripture passage and the different aspects of the passage. Also Ralf explains the different Scripture passages to them and discusses it with the Bible Teachers Felix, Jaspa, Ema and Lukas and also the Bible Teachers from the neighbor village. For the next two months they will get to be really challenged to do that but they are already working hard on it. The topics are mostly taught from Romans and Ephesians and they will help them to stand stronger in our position in Christ and also to live with the Holy Spirit in us.
We already heard 2 sermons on Romans 6. The first one was okay but it was pretty obvious that writing sermons is a new experience. The second one was already much better. The first 6 lessons are going to be about foundational and positional truths and the following lessons will be about how we can now practically live with the Holy Spirit leading us daily. In our ladies meetings on Thursday we as women review those Scriptures again and talk about its application for our own personal lives as women, wives and moms. We and the Bible teachers want to speak clearly into the specific problems and challenges of the Dinangat daily lives. We talk about how people are still inclined to believe that problems come up because of upset dead ancestors. Or how they keep themselves shamefully away from Christian gatherings because of trouble in their families. Also we will talk about problems like pornography (yes, unfortunately that is even here a problem now), adultery or simply reteach the important foundations of a healthy marriage, child raising and the unity as a body of Christ.
We are excited about the coming weeks and want to ask you to please pray for the Dinangat believers. Please PRAY that God’s Word will be understood better and better and that they would learn to live by the leading of the Holy Spirit in them.
