We’re thankful for good teeth. They are one of the things that we tend to take for granted until something goes wrong.
One of the things we have done while we’re on home assignment is to have our teeth looked at by our local dentist. It’s one of the blessings here in the States, to be able to get to a dentist when it is needed. You just hop in a car and go.
This fall 5 minutes before Rick was going to talk at a church, he bit down on a breath mint and then felt something hard in his mouth — a piece of tooth had chipped off. Since he didn’t have any pain, we waited until our next dental appointment which just happened to be the following week. The dentist looked at it and fitted him for a crown.
It is a definite praise that this didn’t happen in the bush because we didn’t have to arrange any flights, Rick didn’t have to stay over night far away from us, and there wasn’t a long wait while all the logistics were arranged.
You can pray that our teeth will have another four uneventful years coming up!
