The Veil Is Torn, I Can Talk To God!

September 6, 2019 by Rick & Anji Zook

New Believers

One piece of awesome news today, Jay’s brother Tee and Tee’s wife heard the Gospel presentation today. Our Co-Workers, Jay, and maybe Ukay had been teaching them for a couple of months now, Creation to Christ.

Most of Jay’s family has been ‘on the fence’ about hearing the teaching, but a few months ago, Tee had a bad experience smoking and got pretty scared, because he continued to experience intense stomach pains, probably some sort of peptic or stomach ulcer. So, they moved up here to hear the Phase One teaching. Ukay and his wife couldn’t do much for Tee’s stomach, and neither could we, although we tried various antacids and such. Finally, it was decided that they would just treat it with diet and time.

Meanwhile, they were hearing the Creation to Christ teaching, which culminated today. Our family did not go for a couple of reasons. We do not just want it to be a spectator thing, especially not a ‘white guy’ thing. We are delighted when these parts of the work are TOTALLY in the hands of our Co-Workers and the Lusi Believers! The other reason was I have a very full week this week with Comprehension Checks.

However, Star was telling me about their testimonies. Not sure what Tee had to say, but Star said Tee’s wife was bawling her eyes out! She was so happy and glad and thankful! Star said part of Tee’s wife’s testimony was that she had always been a good, faithful, dedicated religious person, getting dressed up nicely every Sunday and attending church. She thought that was the proper road and that doing so would get her to Heaven. However, she realizes now how misguided she was!

Another thing she noted in her testimony was how excited she was about how the veil in the Temple was ripped when Jesus died. She understands (because of the teaching) that the torn curtain – torn from top to bottom by the very Hand of God Himself – means that now she has direct access to God through prayer! Of course, for a person who believes in rituals and other people being their intermediaries to God, this is a very significant thing! She no longer needs an earthly intermediary, nor any kind of ‘holy being’ to intercede for her, because Jesus alone does that. Praise God for changed lives and saved souls and the way the Holy Spirit can used foundational, Biblical teaching to make the truths of God’s Word clear, plain, and precious, even to baby Believers! Praise the Lord!
