For her first quarter of Physical Education class this year, Rebekah chose to run. When we found out that there was a race scheduled during the time we planned to be in town for purchasing our supplies, a new goal to train for was discovered. So, every school day for the last nine weeks, as long as weather allowed, Stephen, Rebekah, and Luke, went running in the early morning hours. Even when they discovered that they would have to run 5K instead of 3K as they had originally planned, they kept pressing toward the goal.
Sunday morning, 4:30am, the four cheerleaders (including Grandma Jordan) and the four racers awoke to rain. Despite all the best intentions of capturing the first race with great pictures, rainy weather, early morning pre-dawn, and a faster-than-expected finish, no great pictures were taken. But we cheerleaders are very proud of our runners (including Grandpa Jordan who ran the 21K). And the three runners are happy with their success and already planning to do it again next year.
