In the Valley

May 24, 2018 by Stephen and Ginger Jordan

One year ago, upon our return to the States, the Agutaynen church was doing well and on top of the mountain.  As a church family, we asked three men to step into a temporary leadership position.

Today, the church now appears to be going through a valley.  Two weeks ago, the eldest member of our church family, Grandpa Rudy, passed away.

Then, just a few days ago, Edmund, one of our church leaders (only 53-years old), has been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.  At the recommendation of the doctor, the family is not seeking any treatment.  The doctor says Edmund only has 2-4 months with us.  Please pray that Edmund, his wife Emelda, and their youngest daughter Stella will stand strong during this difficult time.  Their older children, extended family, and neighbors are putting a lot of pressure on them to return to the old religion.  They will tell Edmund that God will heal his body if he returns to their church.  Please pray with us for Edmund and his family.  We would absolutely love it if God would heal him of this cancer.  We hope that Edmund will be a wonderful testimony during this difficult time.  Please also pray for the village church.  Attacks are coming at everyone due to Rudy’s death and now with Edmund’s sickness.  Thank you very much.
