Do you remember those days gone by when you received a report card from school? Were you an all “A” student? And what classes did you do best in? Algebra? Chemistry? PE?
Recently, Stephen was working with a couple of believers and trying to figure out the best illustration for his upcoming sermon. And then the thought of a report card came to his mind. So, he asked one of the believers if they could go home and get one of their old report cards from high school. Upon her return, she handed Stephen her 11th grade report card from the public school. Like your report card, there was math, history and other classes. But the one item that surprised Stephen was the subject “godly”! Was that on your report card? It wasn’t on ours. For this subject of godly, she could receive one the following grades: Always Observed; Sometimes Observed; Rarely Observed; or Not Observed.
If godly was on your report card when you were in school, what grade would you have received? What grade would you receive today?
Please pray for the believers here, that they will first desire to be godly and then second, that their godliness would always be observed in front of others as a testimony of what the Lord has done in their lives. Thank you.
