PREPARATION TO RETURN / VOORBEREIDINGEN VOOR TERUGKEER

Being on Home Assignment gives us the opportunity to gather and prepare aid-materials to ship to PNG.

Tijdens onze “thuisopdracht” tijd hebben wij de gelegenheid om hulpgoederen te verzamelen om naar PNG te verschepen.

Two things that are hard to get at this time are wheelchairs and sandals.

Het is met name moeilijk om rolstoelen en sandalen te krijgen.  

We are looking for wheelchairs for some of our disabled people who are living in the different tribes in the jungle.

Rolstoelen hebben wij nodig voor onze gehandicapte mensen die in de verschillende stammen in de jungle wonen.

Because of the wet jungle climate and uneven terrain, the chairs are in need of maintenance more often and need to be replaced much faster.

Door het natte jungle klimaat en het slechte terein kost het veel onderhoud en moeten de rolstoelen ook sneller vervangen worden.

Good sandals are needed to protect the feet of our permanent disabled leprosy patients.

 

Goede sandalen zijn er nodig voor de lepra- patienten die permanent gehandicapt zijn aan hun voeten.

The sandals need to have velcro or buckles, so it will be easier to fit them to the different sizes and deformities of their feet.

Sandalen met gespen of velcro zijn beter aan te passen aan de verschillende maten en misvormingen van hun voeten.

Other aid-materials we are looking for are: crutches, rolls and compresses gauze, band-aids, tape, reading glasses +1.00 to +4.50, bed sheets, towels, otoscope, blood pressure cuff and stethoscope.

Andere hulpgoederen die wij willen verschepen zijn: krukken, rolletjes en platte gaasjes en verband, pleisters, leesbrillen +1.00 tot +4.50, lakens, doeken, otosscoop, bloeddrukmeter en stethoscoop.
