“Quiet in the back seat!” Can you picture it? A family, perhaps on a road trip. The dad is driving, trying to carry on a conversation with his wife sitting next to him. However, it becomes more difficult as the noise level rises from the kids cooped up in the back seats of the van. […]

I had a great idea. There were NTM people in visiting from Senegal, a family was coming in from the village to town, and those of us who were in town were actually in town, all at the same time. I thought we could all get together for a meal. But since if everyone came […]

You can see it in your mind’s eye – the newly formed missionary team, getting ready to preach the gospel where it has never before preached in the history of the world. They excitedly pour over the maps of the area that they drove hours to acquire, filling in village names where they aren’t written […]

Look! I’m getting better at driving with all sorts of things on my moto. Here you the twin size mattress I carried on the back today. I’ve now often carried porch chairs, I’ve had a watermelon between my legs, my harp has been on multiple moto trips (though that takes two people – one to […]

This post doesn’t have any pictures, and I imagine that most of you are glad about that fact.  Yes, after spending a few days in the capital city I came back and, low and behold, the night guard had his first rat.  He showed it to me.  Yup, a dead rat.  Not so tasty, if […]

Jen and I have a night guard, who guards our houses at night. It’s not unusual here, especially with two young white ladies living in a courtyard together. I didn’t know, though, that it also came with other perks, besides just making sure we stay safe at night . . . When I got up […]

First of all, sorry that the picture is not very good (and that the words didn’t show up yesterday).  But can you at least tell somewhat what’s going on?  This is in my co-worker Jen’s house, and she’s getting screen doors installed.  The guy in blue is the carpenter who is doing the work, and […]

That’s a lot of people in the picture. And no, I don’t think that I could tell you all of their names, countries of origin, and countries that they work in. But I could tell you a lot more now than a month ago! I spent the last week of June at NTM’s first ever […]

One of the big pieces of news recently is that I moved! If you remember, I used to be living in a little house on the church property, basically in the front yard of my pastor and his family (roughly 10 people, give or take, at any point in time). For a variety of reasons, […]

You’d think I’d be better at posting on here, especially with some big things having happened recently, but it’s not the case. Thanks for putting up with me. What I’m going to write now isn’t even one of the big things that’s happened lately, but just something I was thinking about on my way home […]
