A Nasty Burn, An Infected Balloon Hand, And A Sudden Death

January 12, 2017

When Jesus was on this earth 2000 years ago, many people came to Him and brought those who were sick. Not only did Jesus heal them, but he also raised the dead back to life. This was not why He came, but through these miracles many did believe in Him. Likewise, we didn’t come to […]

A New Twist on an Old Tradition

December 21, 2016

In December 2003, our first Christmas in this village, a group of carolers stopped by our house one night. In a way, it was fun. They sang familiar carols, but the words were in their mother tongue. After they sang several carols, we thanked them by giving them some of Ginger’s homemade Christmas cookies and […]

Almost

December 5, 2016

After years of praying, months of meetings, and believers around the world giving, we almost have land in the village for the new home of Faith Bible Church. Last month, the believers in the village selected a piece of land and approached the “owners” to see if they would like to sell. Within hours, the […]

Thanksgiving Update

November 22, 2016

Thanksgiving Day will mark exactly four months since I, Ginger, fell down the stairs and injured my elbow, so I have many more basic things I am thankful for this year. I am thankful for a family who each joined in to do the work that I was not able to do, from making meals […]

Not Judged

Just last month, my Grandma Sue and Aunt Marcia came over for a two-week visit. This wasn’t my grandmother’s first visit but it was my aunt’s first visit. Aunt Marcia saw everything […]

One of the Sweetest Prayers I’ve Ever Heard . . .

August 12, 2016

. . . and I didn’t even hear much of it. For the last several weeks, one of my daily routines is to go visit Tay Hesus. As you know, he has stage 4 cancer and his body is losing the battle. Over the last few weeks, he has grown weaker and weaker. Because of […]

What Would The Door Say?

August 2, 2016

“Ouch!” Yesterday, we traveled three hours back to the village, unpacked, and prepared for another week of school and work. This morning, as Stephen was outside, he noticed that something wasn’t quite right with the outside door. Upon closer examination, he noticed that a board was out of place. Our doors have large spaces at […]

When God Pushes the Pause Button

July 25, 2016

The last few months, everything seemed to be going well, very well. Friend Sunday in May was a success with over 50 visitors to church; Sports Bible Camp reached almost 50 teens; weekly attendance in Youth Group is averaging over 30; the new Kids’ Bible Club started with an attendance of 47 kids; the Luke […]
