As we visit the neighbors, we chat, make jokes, introduce ourselves and get to know them; they communicate words to us in the language and reveal aspects of their culture, which we take into account by recording them and then analyzing the language to learn their way of seeing life and their explanation of how things work.

While working with Fredy, I started playing with words, trying to translate from Spanish into ko'revaju a word he himself used, "father of the family." When I threw my translation into ko'revaju at Fredy (I thought), he laughed a little.

At the end of March we had the first opportunity to spend Holy Week in a Korevaju village.

But first I told them that they should be purchased by the Father through the blood of his Son and I asked if anyone wanted to be bought. The grandfather of the community, sitting in the front row answered "Chu'u!"

With the purpose of living among the Koreguaje people and thus being able to advance faster in learning the language and culture, we are building this house.

The missionary work among the Koreguaje has received a lot of attention from different evangelical denominations. There are churches with indigenous pastors, there are social projects and even a new literacy program. The New Testament has already been translated and can be read from the cell phone and obtained in audio.

It is interesting that just a couple of months ago, this language was so mysterious to us that we could not understand a word that the Koreguaje people were saying.

We thank God that we were able to finish the investigation at the end of last year as we had planned. We visited a total of 11 Koreguaje villages which 5 of them had an evangelical church. We made observations based on the Maturing Church Model, being able to conclude that there is a great need for more discipleship and help with Bible translation, literacy and church life.

Despite the heavy and constant rains, we were able to navigate the river and reach the three villages south. The objectives were achieved beyond our expectations.
