“Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.”
2 Corinthians 3:6
It is with great joy that we write this letter to keep you informed of the ministry that we can carry out, thanks to the mercy of the Lord and to you also who pray for us and support us in every way.
THANK YOU!

A trip with excellent results
The protests were slowly calming down, so we took advantage of that and went to the missions field on July 14. The purpose this time was to help our teammates with a group that came from their church with supplies for some Koreguaje villages (the ones that the pastor of the little town nearby contacted us in advance), and to bless the small pastor´s church.

We thought that going with this group would give us the opportunity to get to know some villages of the Koreguaje people and we could take the opportunity to continue with the investigation of how the Koreguaje missionary work really is, in addition, we would have a few extra days to look for a house in  the nearby city.

Despite the heavy and constant rains, we were able to navigate the river and reach the three villages south. The objectives were achieved beyond our expectations. The friends from the church of our Teammates brought clothes, shoes and medicines for the people; the medical care and recreational activities they carried out allowed us to meet many more people and get closer to those we had met before.
Downriver with rain throughout the 3 hour trip.
Already in the area, we were able to visit a different Koreguaje village every day.
We learned a little about culture and some words of the language, we keep realizing that there will be a lot of work to be done. In this trip we noticed that those who are more advanced in speaking Spanish can only understand 50% and fewer if it comes to spiritual terms; they have very little ability to read in their own language despite having the bible translated, but they still show an enthusiasm for hearing the Gospel.

We moved further in confidence and ideas about how to continue researching the needs of the church among the Koreguajes.

Our teammates rented a house in the little town which brings them closer to the Koreguaje people. We also, rent a good house in the city with enough space to host our teammates whenever they need to arrive and also for the Koreguaje themselves when they have to go for medical matters and others.

These were reasons for prayer that the Lord has answered us, small advances that fill us with joy.
Liliana was serving the people and helping the girls in the group to distribute the clothes and shoes that the churches had donated.

One afternoon while visiting the last village, Hans was approached by a koreguaje believer with a doctrinal book written in Spanish. The man pointed to an illustration about the future eschatology events, seeking to clarify doubts. While patiently explaining to him, Hans asked questions about his understanding of speaking and reading Spanish, the man very sincerely answered that he understands half. Hans was very encouraged, not only by seeing people’s interest but by their real need for teaching.

Liliana was very surprised when this woman in the picture, who is quiet and shy, took her arm when she said goodbye and said: “Liliana you have to come back.” It was very nice for Liliana to think that it could be from the Lord that she said that.
What’s next now. . .

– We have already sent a part of our things to the city thatbis nearby the missions field, while we continue in Bogota for this month of August to attend to family commitments and Liliana’s dental treatment, God willing we left  beginning September  to settle in the new house.

– We will try to visit the koreguaje villages for the rest of this year, trusting in the Lord that by the end of the year we have made a good progress.

OUR PRAYER REQUESTS

THANKS TO OUR LORD

– We thank the Lord for our teammates, it is evident that we are learning a lot together and we really enjoy the company of them and their beautiful     children.

– We thank God for having taken us on this last trip to encourage us to continue, to guide us and to strengthen our desire to serve among the        koreguaje people.

– Grateful for the Lord’s provision of our teammates’ house in the little town and ours in the city.

– Thankful to you for your friendship, interest and support for this ministry, thank you for praying, the support is felt!

     LET’S KEEP PRAYING

– Let us pray for what is to come, that we continue to trust in the competence that we will receive from God to do what we should in this ministry.

– We continue to ask for prayer for the safety of the area where the koreguaje live and for our children, their physical safety and their walk with the Lord.
